As you may know, Homestuck Book 1 came out.

For tax purposes and other VOODOO MOJO REASONS, I’ll be acquiring an extra copy of this tome of eldritch horrors. Rather than keeping it to let its dark magicks infect the corners of my home and befuddle my electronic devices, I will be passing it…

A while ago, My girlfriend and I put together this backpack full of necessities that a homeless person could use and appreciate. It was meant for a certain man that we would always see with a sign all around town but we could never catch him when we had the backpack with us.
One day we found him and offered him the backpack and told him what was in it such as food, brand new shirts, bottles of medicine, toothbrush, etc.
He wouldn’t take the backpack. He gave it right back to us and said that he only accepted money and couldn’t travel with it. We offered him to look through it and take what he needed and he still declined but thanked us so much for being kind.
Disappointed, We kept the backpack in our car just in case someone ever needed it and about 4 months later, I just left work and saw THIS man sitting in the grass holding this sign.
I remembered the backpack and got one of my co-workers who was just getting off to go with me so we ran across the highway and started talking to him and offered him the backpack.
Without even opening it up to look in it, He immediately thanked us 20 times and told us how hungry he was and how much he appreciated whatever was inside and us taking the time to actually talk to him and hangout with him. He shook our hands and told us that his name was Jesse and that nobody ever approaches him, That they just hand him money out of their windows and even though that is greatly appreciated, Hardly anybody ever comes up to him and asks how he is doing.
We told him about the other homeless man who once declined the backpack and told us he only wanted money and Jesse couldn’t believe that he would do that. He hugged us and thanked us again and asked us if he would take a picture of him and his sign to “Just show people that every beggar isn’t looking for money or drugs. Sometimes we just need a penny or a smile. Someone to talk to us. Just someone who cares.”
I hope Jesse turns out okay and his luck takes a turn for the best but this is just something that happened on August 16th, 2011, That I just wanted to tell you all.

WHERE: Outside the Artist Alley exit, the exit by table section “E”
WHEN: Saturday night, midnight
BRING: Whatever you use to draw with, pencils, paper, etc. (snacks optional!)
.
I did this with a group of TF2 fans two years ago - it was an impromptu gathering that time, but really fun! I think it would be nice for the Homestuck fans of the Artist Alley, cosplayers, and everyne else to have a break from the hectic atmosphere of the con day, and just sit around and hang out.
…and draw!
When I did this before, we all just hung out in an empty area of the con and sat around, drew, and chattered. It’s a fun way to meet other fans outside the craziness of photoshoots. I’m not sure if outside the AA with be te best place to settle down, depending on how many peope come, but we can at least meet up there.
.
Everyone and anyone is invited. Come hang out with us and doodle!
Rebog if you’d like to come, and spread the word! <3

I AM GOING TO THIS AND SO SHOULD YOU

I’ll be there :V

From AllOut.org:

Last week, Malaysia rounded up 66 teenage male students who were deemed effeminate and sent them to a government sponsored camp because it was feared they “could end up gay or transsexual”. Despite public outcry, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has not assured that such camps will never happen again.

We have less than a week to let Malaysia know the world is watching: we will deliver the petition next week at the ASEAN summit, where Prime Minister Razak will be in the international spotlight.

As somebody who is half Malaysian and queer this issue is obviously very important to me.

Last year my cousin told me he was gay. He’ll have to live his life as a heterosexual in fear that he’ll be discovered because he has no choice. Being gay is still illegal in Malaysia. If we can’t reverse that right now, the least we can do is prevent horrific things like this happening.

I can’t think of a better cause, I can’t implore you enough to sign this. It would mean a lot.

Thank you

this is so sad.
